Encarnación Prepares To Host Its Share Of The 2025 Junior Pan American Games

The city of Encarnación will host the mountain biking, sailing, open water swimming, and triathlon events for the ASU2025 Junior Pan American Games next month. Encarnación is preparing dozens of volunteers, training them for the competitions, which begin on August 10, after the opening ceremony.

Training sessions were held in various locations throughout Encarnación, covering topics such as protocol, nutrition, cleaning, laundry, and hydration. Beyond the technical aspects, the sessions had profound educational value for the young participants, providing them with tools they can apply in future work, academic, or community settings.

Encarnación prepares

“We are building a team with responsibility, attitude, and a sense of belonging. This experience will last a lifetime,” said Rodrigo Raidán, Encarnación Park Manager for ASU2025. “Encarnación has everything it needs to be up to the task of an international event of this magnitude, and we are demonstrating it with hard work and commitment,” he added.

One of the main sessions took place at the Replica Train Station and concluded with a practical rehearsal at the San José Beach Waterfront. This training focused on serving the so-called Panam Family, comprised of officials and special guests associated with Panam Sports and other international delegations.

Aspects such as ceremonial order, proper use of flags, playing of national anthems, and other protocol guidelines were addressed. In parallel, at the local ASU2025 headquarters, specific training sessions were held for the teams responsible for food, hydration, cleaning, and laundry.

Foundation for the future

Encarnación prepares not only to shine during competition days, but is also building a solid foundation for the future. The city is positioning itself as a space capable of hosting major international events, thanks to its infrastructure, natural environment, and committed citizens.

The Junior Pan American Games not only represent an opportunity to showcase the country’s sporting talent, but also to leave a legacy of training, organisation, and community participation. Encarnación thus projects itself as a city that uses sport as a tool for development, integration, and international outreach.
