Paraguay’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MITIC) will play a prominent role at the forthcoming Ibero-American IDForo 2025 Summit, highlighting the country’s ambitious drive to modernise public services through digital transformation.
The event, hosted in Asunción from 24 to 26 November 2025, will provide a regional platform for Paraguay to demonstrate its progress and leadership in building a trusted digital ecosystem.
High-level presentations by MITIC leadership
Minister Gustavo Villate will deliver a keynote address on Wednesday 26 November focusing on “Digital Trust in the Strategy for the Digitalisation of the State”. The previous day, Vice Minister of Technologies Klaus Pistilli will present the comprehensive “Strategy for the Digitalisation of the State”.
Both contributions, according to MITIC, underscore Paraguay’s institutional determination to emerge as a regional frontrunner in digital governance and innovation.
In a move that reinforces national backing for the summit, MITIC has formally declared IDForo 2025 an event of Technological Interest through an official resolution. The declaration reflects the gathering’s strategic importance to Paraguay and the wider Ibero-American region’s digital development agenda.
Summit theme: Building a trust ecosystem
Held under the motto “Trust Ecosystem of the Ibero-American Digital Market”, the three-day conference at Paseo La Galería in Asunción will convene leaders from government, industry, academia, and multilateral organisations. The programme aims to foster coordinated initiatives that deliver secure, interoperable, and inclusive digital services across the region.
Discussions, panels, and presentations will explore:
- Digital identity as a driver of citizenship and economic competitiveness;
- Strengthening trust services and cross-border interoperability through mutual recognition and standardisation;
- Governance models and regulatory frameworks that ensure legal certainty;
- Responsible adoption of artificial intelligence;
- Sharing of success stories, lessons learned, and practical roadmaps for inclusion and risk management.
Participants will seek to forge strategic public-private-academic alliances capable of scaling solutions with tangible economic and social impact, thereby bolstering confidence in the Ibero-American digital market.
With Paraguay taking centre stage through its ministerial presentations and official endorsement, IDForo 2025 is poised to mark a significant step forward in regional collaboration on digital trust and transformation. Recently, the UAP International Summit 2025 brought together leaders in education, innovation, and business for a full day of discussions on Artificial Intelligence, reskilling, and the rapidly changing world of work.
