The Museum of Sciences (MuCi) is hosting a special edition of Reyes Científicos (Three Wise Scientists) on Saturday, 10 January, from 14:00 to 20:00 at TatakuaLab in Asunción. This event, designed for children, young people, and adults, combines science, learning, and fun. The initiative offers visitors the chance to meet Paraguayan experts and explore how science shapes everyday life.
Celebrating science and role models
Now in its fourth edition in 2026, Reyes Científicos highlights those leading science and scientific outreach in Paraguay. Inspired by the tradition of the Three Wise Men, the event crowns these experts as “scientist wise men and women” of the day. They will deliver interactive talks, allowing attendees to learn first-hand about their research and projects.
Visitors can also take part in science quizzes, live experiments, and hands-on activities. The event is designed to spark curiosity and make learning playful and engaging. By combining fun with education, MuCi encourages the community to connect with science in a meaningful way.

Meet the scientists
The event features some of Paraguay’s leading figures in science and research. Guests include Dr David Galeano Olivera, linguist and science communicator; Gary Servín, robotics engineer; Dr Carla Fernández, researcher and academic; Félix Piriyú, astronomy enthusiast and teacher; Lic. Mirtha Alfonso Monges, archaeologist trained in Germany and France; and Liz Barrios (Aikumby), economist specialising in public policy and high-capacity research.
These experts will offer insights into their work and demonstrate how scientific knowledge impacts society. Their talks provide a unique opportunity to learn from professionals who are shaping Paraguay’s scientific future.

Explore the ASTRA exhibition
Attendees can also visit the ASTRA exhibition at TatakuaLab (Gral. Santos 1030, Textilia complex). This interactive display explores the mysteries of the cosmos through family-friendly astronomy stations. ASTRA combines science, culture, and history, from Indigenous worldviews to modern theories about life on other planets.
Tickets for Reyes Científicos cost Gs. 35,000 (approximately US$5,20) and are available at MuCI website or at the door on the day of the event. The activity is suitable for all ages. For more information, contact MuCI on Whatsapp.
