Paraguay To Host Its First Latin American Congress For Civil Engineering Students

For the first time, Paraguay will host the Latin American Congress for Civil Engineering Students (COLEIC), on 6 October 2025, at the National University of Asunción. The organising committee, ANEICPY, encourages students from all districts of Paraguay to participate in this event, which will enhance their networking opportunities and advance their academic knowledge in the field.

COLEIC unites civil engineering students from across Latin America, offering connections with international peers and exposure to diverse field practices, creating a platform for learning and discussion. Over 300 international participants are expected, representing Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, and seventeen others.

The event includes lectures by professionals, student discussions, and technical visits to iconic buildings and construction sites. Topics will cover sustainable infrastructure and advancements in civil engineering.

ANEICPY’s role in the congress

The National Association of Civil Engineering Students (ANEICPY) is a student-run organisation representing these students from all regions of Paraguay. It is the Paraguayan branch of the Latin American Association of Civil Engineering Students (ALEIC), which fosters connections among associations across Latin America.

COLEIC is a flagship event, and Paraguay is honoured to host it for the first time, welcoming connections across Latin America. Guests will also enjoy a variety of traditional Paraguayan cuisine for an authentic cultural experience.

Representing 2,500 students from 11 universities

ANEICPY represents approximately 2,500 students and recent graduates from 11 universities across Paraguay, both public and private. The organisation equips students with knowledge through professional talks on topics like structures, bridges, highways, and transportation systems, as well as field-skill competitions. Membership is open to all civil engineering students, regardless of their semester, and recent graduates.

ANEICPY also organises technical camps, including visits to notable modern buildings and construction sites, providing practical and theoretical insights into real-world applications.
