The new ‘Paraguayan Tradition’ stamp and coin, commemorative items from the Annual Assembly of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and BID Invest 2026, are officially launched. Led by Paraguay’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Carlos Fernández Valdovinos, the ceremony marked the official presentation of the commemorative items. Fernández Valdovinos introduced the new stamp, while Central Bank President Carlos Carvallo unveiled the coin.
The artwork, titled Paraguayan Tradition (Tradición Paraguaya), was created by Paraguayan visual artist Alfredo Moraes. The design features symbols deeply rooted in national identity. First, a guampa (drinking vessel for mate and tereré, which is a traditional Paraguayan cold infusion). Second, a tereré jar resting on a ñandutí (delicate Paraguayan lacework) cloth adorned with flowers. Both evoke the natural beauty and cultural richness of Paraguay.
Paraguay’s National Postal Directorate (Dinacopa), through its philatelic consultancy, has put the Paraguayan Tradition stamp into production. The new series comprises 3,000 units, each valued at Gs. 13,000 (approximately US$1,84).
