Paraguay’s National Postal Service is paying tribute to the life and legacy of legendary folk musician and icon Quemil Yambay through a commemorative series of postage stamps. Born in the Cordillera department, Quemil Yambay became one of Paraguay’s most recognisable cultural figures. He founded the folk group Los Alfonsinos in 1960.
