IP Agency – Asunción, Paraguay, April 23, 2025, – After two months of operation, the nighttime service Búho has already recorded 15,113 validations, becoming a safe and efficient alternative for citizens who need to travel during nighttime hours.
The data reveals that between 10 PM and 3 AM, 82% of all validations occur, with the midnight hour being the peak time for nighttime transportation demand.
Regarding the busiest stops, the intersections of Avenida España and San Martín, and Avenida Eusebio Ayala and República Argentina have the highest number of passengers using the bus during the night.
It is worth mentioning that the support of the National Police plays a fundamental role in the service’s safety, as no incidents have been reported to date. This demonstrates the effectiveness of this measure and contributes to creating a safe environment for both passengers and drivers.
Where Does The Búho Pass And How Often?
The route connects Asunción and San Lorenzo, starting at the intersection of Colón and Presidente Franco (Asunción) and at Julia Miranda Cueto and General Genes (San Lorenzo), covering main roads in both directions.
Towards Asunción, the route includes streets such as Julia Miranda Cueto, Ruta PY02, Mariscal Estigarribia, Eusebio Ayala, San Martín, Aviadores del Chaco, España, and Colón. In the opposite direction, the route covers Colón, Oliva, Brasil, España, Argentina, Dr. Chávez, Gorostiaga, Eusebio Ayala, and Ruta PY02 again.
The nighttime service Búho offers citizens a safe and accessible alternative for travelling between 10 PM and 4 AM, reported the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).
It operates with special units at a cost of 3.4K Guaraníes with frequencies of 30 minutes from Thursday to Saturday and on holiday eves, and 40 minutes for the rest of the week.
It is a new way to travel late at night, implemented not long ago by the government. Recently, The Asunción Times was already writing about its popularity.
