A new night bus route, part of the Búho (owl) service, will begin operating on 5 September, 2025. This route will connect Asunción and Ñemby, passing through Lambaré, Fernando de la Mora, Villa Elisa, and San Lorenzo. The Búho service operates overnight and into the early morning, providing public transport in key areas of the Metropolitan Area.
Asunción night bus route details
The new route will depart between 22:00 and 03:20, running from Calle Colón (between Palma and Estrella) in Asunción to Calle 9 de Agosto in central Ñemby. Automores Guaraní S.R.L., awarded the contract under resolution 59/2025 of Paraguayan’s Vice-Ministry of Transport, will operate the service. Buses will also stop at the Asunción Terminal, offering convenient access for passengers.
Vice-ministry officials conducted technical checks and a trial run of the route. The night bus service began in February 2025, initially connecting Asunción and San Lorenzo. The route to San Lorenzo uses Avda España, República Argentina, Eusebio Ayala, and Ruta Mariscal Estigarribia. The return trip to Asunción follows the same route, with a detour to Shopping del Sol.
Three new routes were tendered in May: Asunción-Mariano Roque Alonso-Limpio, Asunción-Luque, and the newly announced Asunción-Ñemby route via Lambaré and Villa Elisa, covering the entire Acceso Sur.
