Paraguay has launched a tourism hub, inaugurating a Tourist Information Centre in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The facility is located inside the Cultural Centre “Republic of Paraguay” at the Paraguayan Embassy. Authorities say the hub will boost the country’s brand, and highlight its cultural and tourism potential. The project reflects Paraguay’s growing effort to strengthen its international presence.
“A strategic platform”
Tourism Minister Angie Duarte attended the opening ceremony earlier this month. She described the centre as a “strategic platform” for the national tourism sector. According to Duarte, the initiative will help position Paraguay as an attractive destination for travellers. She emphasised the role of culture, gastronomy, and music in promoting the nation’s image abroad.
The centre will serve both Paraguayans and international visitors seeking information. Officials explained that it offers guidance on travel routes, cultural heritage, and traditional customs. Visitors can learn about destinations, local values, and Paraguay’s diverse tourism offer. Authorities consider the hub a vital point of reference for Paraguayans in Argentina.
Supporting Paraguayans abroad

Paraguay’s Ambassador to Argentina, Helena Felip Salazar, highlighted the centre’s importance during the launch event. She said it would support Paraguayans visiting Argentina with useful, reliable information. The Ambassador also stressed its role in promoting cultural identity beyond national borders. She noted that tourism must remain connected to values and heritage.
With the new facility, the Cultural Centre “Republic of Paraguay” gains an added function as a meeting place for community and culture. Now, the centre acts as a showcase of Paraguayan music, crafts, and historical traditions. Officials say this is essential for strengthening the country’s international cultural presence.
Linking culture and diplomacy
The launch follows another cultural initiative: the Returning Home art exhibition in Buenos Aires. That exhibition displays artworks reflecting Paraguay’s identity from its origins to the present day. Organisers describe it as a journey through national history and artistic evolution. Both projects underline Paraguay’s growing cultural diplomacy in Argentina.
The Tourist Information Centre in Argentina is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 16:00. It is located at Avenida Tucumán 1833 in Buenos Aires. Authorities invite residents and visitors to explore the space. They believe it showcases Paraguay’s hospitality, creativity, and cultural richness.
