Paraguay has achieved a major milestone in global exports with Singapore’s approval of its beef, pork, and poultry. Confirmed during President Santiago Peña’s visit to Singapore, this agreement establishes Paraguay as a key food supplier in international markets. It opens one of Asia’s most competitive markets to Paraguayan meat producers, strengthening the country’s position in global trade.
Paraguayan meat to selective market
After meeting with Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and other senior officials, Peña celebrated the deal as a proud moment for Paraguay. The agreement gives Paraguay access to one of Asia’s most selective and respected meat markets.
“When Paraguay comes together, we make things happen, more jobs, more exports, more opportunity. We are reaching new markets with high-quality products and a common purpose,” President Peña said.
The breakthrough reflect years of cooperation between public and private sectors, supported by SENACSA, Paraguay animal health and food safety agency.

Proof of quality
Opening the Singaporean market meant showing that Paraguay’s animal health and food inspection systems were reliable and easy to verify. Authorities state that this approval of Paraguayan meat confirms that the country is proving it can meet the world’s highest food safety regulations.
“When we export more, we grow more. This way we are building opportunities and sending a message that Paraguay delivers with integrity and pride,” President Peña added.
Open to the world
Government leaders emphasised that this is not just a trade deal, it helps move Paraguay’s global growth efforts. They recognised the hard work of all those in the livestock, industry, and animal health sectors for making this success possible.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to growing an export-focused farm economy that creates jobs and positions Paraguay as a trusted supplier of top-quality food. Highlighting Paraguay’s commitment to becoming a leading exporter in the global meat industry.
Recently the value of Paraguay’s beef exports grew to over US$658 million in April 2025, representing a 42.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
