Spain has praised Paraguay's immigration security

Spanish Authorities Highlight Paraguay’s Immigration Security

Paraguay is showing signs of incipient migration, compared to other countries, and is ceasing to be a transit country to become a destination, according to data provided by the head of the National Center for Immigration and Borders of the Spanish Police, David Agorreta Ruiz, as he praised Paraguay’s immigration security.

The authority developed a training course on the occasion of the creation of the Migration Intelligence Network as part of the EU’s Eurofront Program, an initiative that seeks to strengthen the exchange of information and analysis of risks at the migration level between institutions.

The implementation of the network is based on a cooperation with the European Union’s Eurofront Program, which has already been replicated in Colombia and Ecuador.

Agorreta said that “in terms of migration, Paraguay is a safe country,” the National Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported. The data indicate minor crimes at the migration level and the country’s decline as a transit destination.

The Migration Intelligence Network is a cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior, the Directorate of Migration, the National Intelligence Secretariat (SNI), the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (Senad), the Secretariat for the Prevention of Money Laundering (Seprelad), the National Directorate of Civil Aviation (Dinac) and the National Police.
