Paraguay And Argentina Sign Agreement For Double Aeronautical Surveillance

The aviation agencies of Paraguay and Argentina signed an agreement on Tuesday 14th on “Double Surveillance in Occupational Safety”, through which they will cooperate in aircraft inspections in cases of “interchange”, when aircraft from the other country operate in their territory.

The president of the Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (Dinac) of Paraguay, Nelson Mendoza, and the head of the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) of Argentina, María Julia Cordero, signed the agreement.

Each authority may inspect aircraft of the other country when operating in its territory. It also establishes the provisions for cooperation between Paraguay and Argentina in the delegation of functions and responsibilities of the State of registry to the State of the aircraft operator in the case of leasing, chartering or exchange, including cabotage.

The agreement is part of the memorandum of cooperation signed in July, known as “Open Skies,” which includes measures such as the liberalisation of routes, the elimination of flight limits and the inclusion of traffic rights up to the 9th freedom of air.

Since July 2024, Dinac and ANAC have adopted crucial measures to allow greater access and expansion of air operations between both countries, responding to the common interest of promoting air connectivity.
