Vehicle licenses for Asunción and also San Lorenzo are now available for digital submission through the mobile application “Portal Paraguay”.
The Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (Mitic) reported that these documents are added to those already available on the portal: identity card, green card and driver’s license.
The digital format of the vehicle license has the same legal validity as the physical one, however, citizens and residents may choose to carry both formats according to their needs.
If a citizen or resident has the document but cannot view it in the app, they must contact their municipality so that it can be made available.
Vehicle Licenses For Asunción via an “Electronic Identity”
To issue digital documents such as Vehicle Licenses For Asunción, it is necessary to have an “Electronic Identity”, the name given to the user profile on the website known as the Single Government Portal.
The issuance of the identity card, driver’s license and vehicle registration card is only possible through the mobile application “Portal Paraguay”. Each time the citizen enters the application, he or she will be able to generate a new digital version of the documents with an incorporated QR code, valid for 5 minutes.
The Portal Paraguay app allows you to view vehicle registration data stored in the databases of each municipality.
The Portal Paraguay application, developed by MITIC, is available for Android and iOS devices.
Please note that access to digital documents is completely free and, for the moment, requires an internet connection to use the application. However, a new version of the Paraguay Portal is being developed that will allow its use without the need for mobile data, the institution reported.
It’s not perfect yet, and you can’t do everything you may possibly ever want to do via the app yet, but it’s a significant improvement for citizens and residents alike and further functionality is expected to be added over time.
