In the first quarter of this year, technological exports reached $360.39 million, according to data from the Competitive Intelligence Directorate of the Investment and Export Network (Rediex).
Some main products sent to the international market include insulated conductors, insecticides, and ethyl alcohol, valued at $76.24 million, as highlighted by official data from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
Following these products are insecticides and others for pests, totaling $30.86 million; ethyl alcohol, amounting to $26.33 million; as well as common metal caps and closures and medicines, exported for $20.26 million and $14.50 million, respectively.
Articles for transportation or plastic packaging recorded shipments of $14.23 million in these first three months of the year.
Dynamism and increased markets for national products
Paraguayan technological product exports showed good dynamism, revealing the sector’s strong development and the expansion of markets for domestic products, emphasized by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC).
Within this group of industrial products, the presence of tanned bovine or equine leather stands out, sent to the foreign market valued at $11.96 million.
The Central Bank of Paraguay reveals that among the industrial products that increased by more than 20% in the first quarter of 2023 were insecticides, medicines, and transportation articles.
The Competitive Intelligence Directorate also underscores that among the technological exports sent to the international market are other leather manufactures, blankets, leggings, ferroalloys, aluminum tanks, soaps, and others.
