Nestled amidst the warm aromas of melted cheese and genuine European hospitality, La Tarantella has carved out a special place in the hearts of many Paraguayan families. Since opening its doors in July 2012, this Italian-inspired restaurant has expanded its roots across Asunción and Luque, preserving a spirit that goes beyond the kitchen: offering an experience designed to connect, share, and create lasting memories.
Here, every meal is more than just a dish. It is a celebration of the simple moments that bring us together.
A family story that became a restaurant
What began as a family dream is now a place where love for service is felt in every detail. “La Tarantella was born as a family enterprise, connecting our family’s vocation for hospitality and service with people,” shares Juan Galeano Grassi (37), the restaurant’s general manager.
The project has grown over time, but has never lost its soul. Every corner breathes the warmth of an Italian home, the kind where the table is always set, and children play carefree. Spaces designed for all ages, where laughter, long conversations, and toasts become a daily ritual.

The menu: classics that capture and embrace
La Tarantella’s menu does more than nourish; it awakens memories. The pizzas, with their crisp bases and flavours combining Italian tradition with local ingredients, are firm favourites: pepperoni and chicken with katupyry, authentic classics that invite sharing.
But there is more: from homemade pastas steeped in history to the beloved parrillitas, a Creole feast served as a mini grill with meats and typical accompaniments such as Paraguayan soup and chipa guazú. Flavours that embrace both the palate and the soul.
At the bar, the Gin and Tonic, Aperol Spritz, and well-chilled draft beers provide the perfect accompaniment for long afternoons or spontaneous celebrations. Everything is designed for relaxed enjoyment, just as good living demands.
And as with any great experience, it begins with quality ingredients. “We use the highest quality ingredients. We work with renowned importers, and we source fresh produce directly from local producers,” explains Juan, emphasising their commitment to excellence.

A family refuge with the warmth of home
Those who step through La Tarantella’s doors do not just enter a restaurant, they enter a home. “An Italian home,” they say proudly. A place where every guest is welcomed with a smile, and where attention is paid to the small gestures that make all the difference.
Beyond its daily delights, La Tarantella is the setting for important memories. Weddings, birthdays, quinceañeras, anniversaries, corporate events, every celebration finds its place and personalised care.
“For us, it is very important to serve people well. We work on the details to achieve that goal,” affirms Juan. That warmth makes each visit more than an outing, it becomes an experience that guests want to repeat.

Five locations, one heart
With four locations across Luque and Asunción and one opening, La Tarantella has managed to expand without losing its essence. In Luque, the family-friendly atmosphere is enhanced by outdoor spaces, a climate-controlled dining room, a playground that brings smiles, and convenient parking. Meanwhile, in Recoleta, it remains a great option for those seeking a more traditional setting.
In Villa Morra, the experience is divided yet complete. On the rooftop of the Atrium building, Tarantella Rooftop offers enchanting views under the stars. On the ground floor, Jazz Cube is a musical gem, with emerging and established artists filling the nights with jazz, soul, and melodies that touch the heart.
Opening in the first week of July 2025, you can also enjoy the taste of La Tarantella at Shopping Mariano. With the excitement of opening doors to new dreams, the team is working to renew the menu, adding flavours and offerings that will keep loyal diners curious and captivate new ones.
Because at La Tarantella, every dish is an excuse to return, every visit a warm welcome, and every guest part of a big family.
