With more emotions, attractions and diverse artistic proposals, the second edition of the Itaipu Christmas Village is coming. It will be held in the Manuel Ortiz Guerrero Linear Park in Ciudad del Este and is expected to be attended by more than 100,000 visitors.
From December 13th to 21st, the Three Wise Men and Santa Claus await families to share an emotional celebration. Admission for the general public to the Linear Park is free.
The Binational Christmas Village 2024 was declared of National Tourist Interest by the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur) through resolution No. 1612/2024.
Boosting the economy at Linear Park
In addition to the themed attractions, artistic shows, games and lights, the Christmas Village at Linear Park will also give a significant boost to the national economy, given that the complex will host a market, a souvenir stand and a gastronomic park, where local and regional entrepreneurs will be able to offer their products to visitors.
On the first day of the event, the artists who will bring sparkle to the Christmas party will be Kchiporros, Grupo Generación and the Luque Children’s Choir. A fireworks and drone show is also planned to light up the eastern sky with performances alluding to the end-of-year festivities.
It is important to note that musical performances will take place daily until Saturday, December 21, and the styles will be varied to delight a broad and diverse audience, Itaipu reported.
Throughout the Christmas grounds, children and adults alike will be able to marvel at the giant Nativity scene, the Three Wise Men, Santa’s house, the enormous Christmas tree, the decorative lights and the illuminated suspension bridge in Linear Park.
The little ones will also have access to a playground with swings, slides, a crazy balloon, a mechanical bull, a climber, a trampoline and other entertaining spaces to have fun, all across Linear Park in Ciudad del Este.
The main objective of Itaipu’s 2024 Christmas Village is to provide an entertaining and magical experience to the public during the December holidays, in order to encourage family unity in an environment designed exclusively to share the traditions of this emotional season.
Likewise, the Binational seeks to promote national art and the work of entrepreneurs, for which it provides the logistics and space for the exhibition and sale of their products.
Recently a team of schoolchildren from Ciudad del Este won a Lego robotics competition in the USA. It has not been confirmed whether they will feature at the Christmas celebrations or not – yet!
