The Asunción Times Pub Crawl – Las Mercedes Edition!

Clear your schedule for Friday evening, 29th August, and get ready for another unforgettable night with The Asunción Times Pub Crawl! Following the success of our first ever pub crawl earlier this year, we’re back for round two – bigger, bolder, and just as sociable. This time, we’ll be taking over the lively neighbourhood of Las Mercedes to discover its best drinking spots, all in excellent company.

Where and when?

We’ll gather at the first pub on the crawl at 7:00 PM sharp to kick off the evening in style. Our host will be there to greet you, break the ice, and make sure you’re mingling before the adventure begins. The crawl will wind its way through five hand-picked bars, each with its own unique atmosphere. Expect around 45-50 minutes in each, with a short regroup before heading to the next destination.

What’s included?

For Gs. 120,000 per person (approximately USD 16), you’ll receive five complimentary drinks – one at each bar – plus the expert guidance of our charming host, who’ll keep the group together and the night flowing. The event will be conducted in English, but our host also speaks Spanish and Dutch.

A taste of pub crawl history

The tradition of the pub crawl hails from 19th-century student life in the UK, later gaining fame in the US in the early 20th century. The ‘crawl’ refers to the unhurried (and occasionally wobbly) pace from one venue to the next – and today it’s a beloved way to explore a city’s nightlife.

How the night unfolds

Once introductions are made at the first venue on the pub crawl, you will enjoy your first drink before setting off to explore four more fabulous venues in Las Mercedes. At each stop, you’ll have time to savour your drink, soak up the ambience, and, if you fancy, order another round or hit the dance floor. Keep an eye on our host, who’ll signal when it’s time to move on.

The crawl will officially wrap up around midnight – but don’t let that stop you! You’re welcome to stay on at the final bar, order more drinks, have a dance, or retrace your steps to a favourite earlier stop.
