After 13 years, Korn will return to Paraguay, marking a significant moment for the country’s metal community. The nu metal pioneers announced their comeback as part of their largest South American tour to date, set to take place on 13 May 2026, at the Jockey Club in Asunción.
The announcement was made by production company G5Pro in partnership with 30e. The statement has reignited excitement among Paraguayan fans who last witnessed the band’s raw power in 2013. This return is more than just a concert: it is a reunion with a sound that defined an era and gave voice to a generation grappling with pain, alienation, and the search for identity.
The nu metal revolution
Formed in California in the early 1990s, Korn emerged from Bakersfield with a sound that shattered conventional metal boundaries. Combining downtuned seven-string guitars, hip-hop rhythms, and Jonathan Davis’s anguished vocals, they created something entirely new: nu metal. Their approach was unflinching. Songs like Blind, Freak on a Leash, and Falling Away From Me confronted childhood trauma, addiction, and emotional turmoil with brutal honesty. Where other bands offered escapism, Korn offered catharsis.
The current lineup features Jonathan Davis on vocals and bagpipes, guitarists James “Munky” Shaffer and Brian “Head” Welch, and drummer Ray Luzier. Together, they have sold over 42 million albums worldwide and earned two Grammy Awards, cementing their status as architects of modern heavy music.
A night to remember
Korn’s previous Paraguayan performance remains etched in local rock history. On 30 November 2013, the band headlined the Personal Fest at the Jockey Club. The band delivered a set that blended classics with material from The Paradigm Shift. Davis’s bagpipe solo during Shoots and Ladders stood out, as did their unexpected covers of Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall and Outside the Wall. The energy that night was electric, a testament to the profound connection between the band and their Paraguayan audience.
Korn on stage: raw and unrelenting
On stage, Korn are relentless. Davis’s commanding presence, the dual guitar attack of Shaffer and Welch, and Luzier’s thunderous drumming create an experience that is both punishing and liberating. Their authenticity, forged in the underground and maintained through global fame, is what keeps fans coming back. They have never softened their edges or compromised their vision, and that integrity resonates deeply.

Recent performances have proven their enduring relevance. Their appearance at England’s Download Festival was hailed by rock magazine Louder as “a historic moment for alternative,”. Also, their Lollapalooza Chicago set was praised as proof of their unwavering talent and longevity. Whether headlining festivals or filling arenas, Korn continues to attract both longtime devotees and new converts.
The upcoming tour follows their 2025 circuit through Europe and North America. The band supports Requiem, their fourteenth studio album released in 2022. The South American leg is their most ambitious in the region, spanning seven countries: Colombia, Perú, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, and Mexico.
Joining Korn are Canadian metal band Spiritbox and American group Seven Hours After Violet. The latter features Shavo Odadjian, bassist from System of a Down. Together, they promise a night of uncompromising heaviness.
A milestone for Paraguay’s metal scene
For Paraguay’s rock and metal community, this concert represents something profound. International acts of Korn’s calibre visit the country far less frequently than neighbouring Argentina or Brazil, making each appearance a milestone. The 13-year gap has only intensified anticipation, transforming this show into a cultural event that transcends music.
Korn offers a chance for fans to reconnect with the soundtrack of their youth, to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with others. Moreover, to share with people who found solace in Korn’s unfiltered expression. And, of course, to experience the cathartic release that only live heavy music can provide.
