The Plaza de los Desaparecidos in Asunción becomes the perfect place to enjoy music and good vibes! The event is called Cantautores en la Plaza: ¡A Viva Voz!, where local artists come to share their music with people.
These shows are free and open to everyone. It happens every Tuesday of May from 7 PM to 8 PM. There was also a series of concerts in April; the last was singer and songwriter Aldo Franco. Each night features a unique artist who tells their story and shows who they are. On May 6, it was Dani Moreno Vinader. He performed 10 songs, including five that were performed for the first time.

While the show with Moreno Vinader has already passed, three other shows remain in May.
- On May 13, Ulises Silva will present his music and energy at the plaza.
- On May 20, Roque de Pablo comes with an invited artist and continues the show with songs full of feeling.
- And on May 27, Mario Casartelli, poet and artist, will close the event with a special show.
Some performers were present at the 4th Annual Paraguayan Songwriters Collective Festival, Trova Acústica, held in October.
Plaza de los Desparecidos
Cantautores en la Plaza will take place at the Plaza de los Desaparecidos, at the corner of El Paraguayo Independiente and Ayolas in downtown Asunción. It is just beside the Palacio de López. This place commemorates the lost lives during the dictatorship. It is not only about music. It is also about memory, resistance, and celebrating Paraguayan culture. The organisers say it best: “Tokorré ha jojoechápeve,” which would translate as “Let us meet and enjoy together.” We come together to remember and to keep this space alive for culture and art in our city.
