First Annual Meeting Of The Tripartite Consultative Council

With the return of the trade unions to the dialogue table with the Government, the first annual meeting of the Tripartite Consultative Council was held, made up of workers’ organisations, business associations, and government authorities, under the leadership of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (Mtess).

The meeting of the Tripartite Consultative Council, which took place at the headquarters of the Mtess, addressed the work agenda for this year and analysed the new labor laws recently approved or in the process of being discussed in the parliamentary sphere.

On this occasion, the Minister of Labor, Mónica Recalde, presented to the union and business representatives the proposal for the Employment Formalization Strategy 2025-2028, whose main objective is to promote formal employment in the country.

A government statement said: “The return of workers’ organisations to the tripartite table marks a significant advance in the strengthening of social dialogue, consolidating efforts to build a consensual agenda that promotes labor formalisation and the improvement of working conditions in the country.”

The Tripartite Consultative Council: Trade unions, business associations, and government representatives

Representing the trade union sector were leaders from the Central Unitary Workers’ Union (CUT), the Central Unitary Authentic Workers’ Union (CUT-A), the National Workers’ Union (CNT), the Paraguayan Confederation of Workers (CPT) and the General Workers’ Union (CGT).

The top representatives of the Paraguayan Industrial Union and the Rural Association of Paraguay (ARP) were present at the Tripartite Consultative Council on behalf of the business sector, the Ministry of Labor reported.

The government sector was represented by authorities from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Finance.
