More than 20,000 people took advantage of the Christmas holiday to visit two of Asunción’s parks, Ñu Guasu Park and Guasu Metropolitan Park, to engage in outdoor recreational activities in a safe and family-friendly environment, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).
The agency also announced to the public that the special opening hours planned for December 31 will be from 5am to 6pm, while on January 1, the parks will be open from 8am to 8pm.
These modifications aim to guarantee access for visitors during the end-of-year celebrations, while maintaining order and security in public spaces.
The two parks are among the most popular public spaces in Asunción.
In a statement, a spokesperson for MOPC said: “The MOPC invites the population to continue enjoying the parks while respecting the regulations established to preserve these green lungs of the city. In addition, the presence of security agents remains constant in both spaces.”
