As Paraguay opens its stand at the Madrid International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2025, one of the notable displays is the Paraguayan artisans who put on a live demonstration of their ancestral techniques for embroidery and piece-making.
The Paraguayan Institute of Crafts (IPA) is captivating visitors from around the world with an exquisite display of the country’s cultural wealth and artisanal talent, within the framework of the Crafts Route, at the heart of Fitur 2025, which takes place this week, from January 22 to 26.
The National Tourism Secretariat (Senatur) stand offers detailed information on artisanal routes and local businesses, inviting tourists to immerse themselves in authentic experiences and learn first-hand about the creative process behind each piece.
Visitors can admire a wide range of handcrafted products made with ancestral techniques, from delicate ñandutí pieces to ceramic objects and wood carvings, all masterfully crafted by local artisans.
The participation of the IPA together with Senatur is an opportunity to position Paraguay as a tourist destination that combines nature, adventure and a rich cultural heritage.
“Our presence at Fitur is a sign of our commitment to promote and preserve Paraguay’s artisan traditions, which are one of the biggest tourist attractions,” said the Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte. “We want the world to know the passion and dedication of our artisans, and for them to take home a little piece of our culture in every piece they buy,” she added.
The participation of the Handicraft Route in FITUR 2025 is a fundamental step in the country’s strategy to promote the development of cultural and artisan tourism, fostering the connection between artisan families, ancestral techniques, and the tourism industry.
